This is a blog I created in August 2008 to keep up with my progress back in the swimming world. Prior to the Summer of 2008 I haven't really done a swimming workout in 15 years when I was about 75 lbs. lighter! My main motivation is for the health benefits and having something to train towards....but really there are SO many other benefits.

Swim workout at YMCA
With the layoff and the holidays coming its been a bit of a challenge, to say the least, to get in the water regularly. But I did get in today so...
Great job on really being on top of your swimming. Could you explain what you did for each, such as what your kick was or the drill? I am a very competitive swimmer too and I would love to have something new and fun. http://cpeterson18.blogspot.com/
Well, this was now coming up on 6 years ago. I haven't been in the pool "regularly" since about 2011. I try to get in here and there. I am now 43 so.....
This specific workout used to be a meet warmup for me (but just 1x though). Its pretty generic stuff. Kicking is choice...I typically will kick 75 free/25 fly until I've gone the 400 yards. Drills are basic...one arm butterfly, one arm backstroke, one pull/two kick breaststroke, fingertip drag or "catch up" freestyle.
